In this assignment I was tasked with selecting a brand and coming up with a product that is completely unrelated to what the brand usually makes. I chose Little Caesars. Introducing: Pizza Face! Acne patches.
If you struggle with acne, you might have been called a "pizza face" or "pepperoni face, and I doubt anyone likes to be called that. By using that in the product name, we turn it into something fun, with a message of self love. "Just like our pizzas, you too can be hot'n'ready". This idea could have worked with any other pizza brand, but I just love the idea of re-purposing the existing Little Caesars slogan into something self-love related. The actual product is hydrocolloid acne patches, infused with salicylic acid, shaped like pizza toppings! They will heal acne and protect it from scratching, while giving your face a fun look.
The packaging box is designed to look like a pizza box. Using cardboard and soy ink in the creation of the packaging allows it to be fully compostable. The sides of the box say the iconic HOT-N-READY slogan. However once you open the box, the inner flaps say YOU-ARE, completing the message of YOU-ARE-HOT-N-READY. Here is what the flat box would look like:
Of course this has led me to come up with more makeup products based on pizza. Introducing: Deep! Deep! Eyeshadow palette. Usually eyeshadow palettes come in thin tins, but this palette is DEEP just like Little Caesars Deep Dish! Pizza. You will never run out of your favorite shade.
And just for fun, Marinara flavored lip balm! "Why not have an ACTUALLY delicious lip balm, that tastes just like our famous marinara sauce, shines like pizza grease, and stains your lips red like the tastiest pizza"
